I'm Back

Hello
I've been gone way too long.  I've haven't had a good year and I want to change that by getting back into my crafting.  Creating is good for ones soul.
Earlier this week I had some friends over to help me make up some corsages for our group.  I think they turned out pretty cute!
It was tons of fun and everyone loved them!
It did get my creative juices flowing so I'm working on some cute containers to hold chocolates, I'll probably get them finished to show off in a few days.
Take care!

Sit Down Saturday

How funny, I just can't figure out how to create a blog title so I'm going to 'wing it' for awhile until I come up with just the right ones.  But if you're reading this I appreciate that you're not running off.  Thank you!

The card I created for today is so cute and simple.
It's a 4x4 card.  I used Colonial White for the card base, Sarita for the mat, Goldrush and Buttercup for the flower, cut using Artiste (pg.55) and the banner cut from Buttercup using Artiste (pg.35), Happy Birthday is from the Banner Wishes, My Acrylics stamp set.  All are products from Close to My Heart.

Don't forget to make a comment and/or follow my blog to be entered into this months drawing!

Have an enjoyable day and get creative!

What a day! The day before our country's Independence celebration! I'm looking forward to the fireworks, I love them!

Today I have a small giveaway to announce.

It's a file folder mini album, very small but sweet.  Everything is cut from the Artiste Cricut cartridge.  I know you'd like it and I also have a class coming up to make one.
The drawing will be July 31 and the class will be August 2 at 2:00pm.
Follow my blog to be entered, make a comment for another entry.  Mention in your comment if you'd like to sign up for the class, click on the link above or send me a message by email.

Thank you Dr. Phil for the inspiration!

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone!  I've been away far too long!  I hope all the holidays were great for you, I know mine were great.  I was spoiled by Santa and I got to spend lots of time with my family.  That's all I need.

I have rescheduled the Cricut Class.  Get more from your Cricut!  I'll help you out on Wednesday, February 12 @ 6:30 or Saturday February 15 @ 10AM. Sign up early there's only room for 4 in each class.  Bring your own Cricut and accessories.

I've had the bug.  The crafting bug, so I covered a box.  The My Creations Card Box (Z1647) and I used a retired paper pack.  But I did have fun creating.
Here's the box...

I'll hold a class on March 6th and but sign up by February 24.

I'm planning more classes.  Please stay tuned and I'll figure out how to do all this.  In the meantime get out there and create, and if you need any help... let me show you how!

Halloween Fun!

I wanted to make a treat for the ladies in my BUNCO group.  I made 12 milk cartons, Artiste, page 46.  I'm a tightwad so I cut four on a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock, they were cut at 2.5".  I made six of each color using Smokey Plum and Sunset, they're quite tiny but I think they're cute.  I used the Magic Potions stamp set for the labels, cut from Artiste using the suggested sizes on the package.  I'm sure if I'd had more time I could have done more embellishing, but I'll give myself more time next year.

Then later...
I always say I work better under pressure.  I wasn't really under pressure but since Halloween is today I wanted to use up some things I made by mistake.  They say there are never mistakes in crafting and I don't remember the rest of it, so it must be that it gives you a new chance to show your creativity.
So I had an extra treat tube, a coffin box and popcorn box cut from Artiste, as well as extra labels.  It could have been done with a variety of colors but still the old man won't care what his candy is in as long as he gets to have candy.

Have a great day.  Go do something for yourself, maybe a breast exam?

Baby Shower

Last weekend there was a baby shower for my son and his wife.  They are expecting my fourth grandbaby in December.  Yay!!
The girls who threw the shower asked me to help with decorations, another "Yay!"  I created a diaper cake, a banner, centerpieces and party favors.  I had so much fun!  The colors they chose were green, blue and orange, using an Irish theme, because the couple loves Ireland!
The photo above shows how the cake and banner were displayed. It wasn't long before the table filled with gifts!
Above is a close up of the banner.  I used Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, Banner3 on page 39.  Cut at 8" using Ruby Cardstock, 6" using Colonial White cardstock and 5.5", again, using Ruby cardstock, for the layering. I'm not sure of the yellow paper and stamp set used.  The lettering was cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, using Topiary and Sunset cardstock.  I used this particular design because I tried to mimic their family coat of arms.

Above is a close up of the diaper cake.  96 diapers rolled and banded around a bottle of Champagne, Mommy can celebrate after baby is born!  The cardstock used was Topiary and Sunset, they were just a wonderful match to what I wanted to create.  The shamrocks were created using Heart1 on page 27 of Art Philosophy cartridge, cut in various sizes.  The roses were cut using the Artiste cartridge, Accent 2 page 54, cut many different sizes.  The "celtic knot" was cut from Art Philosophy, the Decorative layer on page 51.

This is the center piece
and this is a top view.  I used the same shapes and colors that were used on the diaper cake.
This silly thing was the "favor."  The popcorn box is in Artiste page 67, cut at 2", from Black cardstock.  I found the "cloud" shape on page 66 cut at 1" from Sky cardstock.  I used the "A Rainbow" stamp set to emboss the cloud with Silver Pearl embossing powder and the Rainbow onto Colonial White cardstock, colored with markers and cut out. Glued together then filled with gold wrapped candies.
I got lots of compliments and I am so proud of what I made.

Trick or Treat!

I've challenged myself many times since I began with Close to My Heart.  Today I finished this Trick or Treat for my grandkids.  The base is the coffin from the Artiste Cricut cartridge, cut at the suggested size of 7.5" from black cardstock.  I used the Martha Stewart circle cutter to create the holes in the lid.  The treat tubes are filled with different candies and labeled using the Magic Potions stamp set.  Of course the labels were cut from Smokey Plum cardstock, using the Artiste cartridge.  They were cut the sizes suggested on the stamp set package and stamped using black ink.  I hope the kids love it as much as I loved making it for them.
